Located in Suiyang County, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, the Twelve Behind Guizhou Tourist Area boasts a stunning natural landscape that seamlessly blends caves, forests, mountains, and waterways. This area is a treasure trove of high-quality tourism resources, offering a diverse range of experiences—including sightseeing, thrilling underground adventures, relaxing getaways, outdoor hiking, scientific research, and educational activities—making it a large-scale, multi-functional tourist destination. Covering an expansive area of over 600 square kilometers, the region is part of the Shuanghe Cave National Geological Park. It encompasses two AAAA-rated scenic spots—Shuanghe Cave and Qingxi Gorge—as well as the China Grand Canyon area. Home to an impressive network of karst caves totaling 439.7 km in length, including "Asia's Longest Cave," the area has already been nominated for inclusion on the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Tentative List. Additionally, the site serves as a national research and study base for primary and secondary school students, as well as a nationally recognized demonstration base for sports tourism. The entire Twelve Behind Tourist Area was developed with significant investment from Jiangsu Yinhe Investment Co., Ltd., and is managed and operated by Guizhou Twelve Behind Tourism Development Co., Ltd. Nestled within Earth’s unique 28th parallel north latitude, this pristine region features well-preserved primeval forests where caves, towering mountains, and serene waters coexist harmoniously. Characterized by a subtropical, humid climate, the area enjoys an average elevation ranging from 700 to 1,400 meters, with annual temperatures averaging between 11.5°C and 17.5°C. With forest coverage exceeding 80%, the region is renowned for its exceptionally high concentration of negative oxygen ions—up to 400,000 ions per cubic centimeter. Dubbed by CCTV as both the "World Karst Natural Cave Museum" and "China’s Gateway to the Earth’s Core," the Twelve Behind Tourist Area has earned global acclaim as a world-class outdoor haven and a paradise for adventure enthusiasts seeking unforgettable wilderness experiences.
