On October 17th, solstice 18th, "the 21st national conference on caves and the third council meeting of China tourism cave alliance" was held in shuanghe cave national geopark, suiyang county, guizhou province. The conference is sponsored by the professional committee of caves of the Chinese geological society and the China tourism cave union, jointly organized by UNESCO international karst research center and guizhou academy of sciences, organized by guizhou qingxi lake tourism development co., ltd. and guizhou karst caves (tourism) resource development and utilization engineering research center. Shuanghe cave is the site of this conference for its diverse cave landscape and high scientific value.

Shuanghe cave is the first long cave in China. It is a huge long karst cave system formed in dolomite and dolomite limestone. It is composed of more than 200 branch caves and has several underground rivers. At the press conference for the sino-french cave exploration in April this year, Frenchman jean bertasi and his team released the latest exploration data. The length of shuanghe cave has been updated to 186.33 kilometers, and pixie flying cat, sabertooth fossil, panda fossil and rhino fossil were found in the cave. These show that shuanghe cave is not only of high tourist value, but also of high scientific research value. It is still being explored and is expected to be Asia's first long hole.

Shuanghe cave is also "the world's longest dolomite cave, the world's largest lazuli cave." In 2006, shuanghe karst cave was jointly rated as "one of the top 50 places worth visiting by foreigners in China" by global times and 32 other metropolitan media. For its uniqueness, diversity and integrity, it is also described by CCTV as "the museum of karst natural caves" and "the gateway to the center of China".

During the meeting, experts from the national conference on caves spoke highly of the fact that shuanghe is fully equipped for the world geopark. "The 'academician workstation' of the institute of karst geology of the Chinese academy of geological sciences will be located in shuanghe," said liu tongliang, director of the institute of karst geology at the Chinese academy of geological sciences, after visiting shuanghe national geopark.

It is understood that shuanghe cave national geopark belongs to the "twelve behind" tourist scenic area. The park adheres to the principle of "protection first, development second" during development. Walking in the park, you can not only see the well-preserved cave landscape, but also feel the most primitive natural landscape. The "shuanghe inn and resort" located in the park is even more impressive.

This conference can not only exchange the experience of cave investigation and research, development and protection, improve the level of China's cave science and research, but also play a significant guiding and promoting role in the construction of shuanghe cave national geopark and the application of world geopark.
